Despite predictions of severe weather, and early
morning downpours across the region, over 300 church members and
friends of Camp Mo-Val from throughout the Conference turned out to
celebrate the Dedication of our New Pool. People came from as far away
as Cape Girardeau, Concordia & Emma, Kansas City and Springfield. At
least 38 different Conference congregations were represented. Many
brought water from their congregations that was poured into the New
Pool during the dedication. A common comment by those present – “the
pool is awesome!”
We are still working to pay for the Pool which will cost about
$800,000 (bills are yet being received). Thank you to those who have
been supporting this effort in many ways, and we encourage churches
and individuals to keep paying on their pledges to the Camp Mo-Val
Capital Campaign. We also encourage other churches and individuals to
consider becoming a committed partner in this exciting venture by
making a pledge to the Campaign. Our vision for Camp Mo-Val includes
not only the new Pool, but an adult-friendly Retreat Center and a new
Welcome Center and Dining Hall. Yes, God is doing a new thing at Camp
Mo-Val and we would like everyone in the Missouri Mid-South Conference
to have part in that mission and vision!
