Work Days at Camp
Mo-Val
|
|
| |
|
Work Days are wonderful opportunities for service
and group building. They are a great way for families, youth groups,
adult groups and even whole churches to lend a helping hand with the
maintenance of these facilities, meet new people and have some fun
along the way. Projects vary, depending on the skills of those
involved and the weather, but we can guarantee you a tired muscle or
two and a great sense of satisfaction.

Lenten Work Day 2010
Saturday, March 27, 2010
This is a great opportunity for families, youth groups, adult
groups and even whole churches to lend a helping hand with the
maintenance of these facilities! Projects vary, depending
on the skills of those involved and the weather, but a tired
muscle or two and a great sense of satisfaction are guaranteed.
The work isn't glamorous, but it really does make a big
difference! The last four years, an average of 70 works
turned out to make this annual event a great success!
If this date doesn't work for you or your group, check your
calendar and call the camp office. We can explore
alternative dates.
Lunch and supplies are provided, but call ahead to reserve a
spot and let us know about special skills.
Whatever tools and professional equipment you can bring will be
greatly appreciated.

Please bring or wear: |
| |
- Older, less expensive clothing that can get
really dirty and possibly stained with paint or stain.
- Layer of clothing, so you can add or take off
items depending on your body temperature. (Groups may be
indoors or outdoors.)
- Wet weather gear...just in case it's
drizzling.
- Study shoes or boots.
- Work gloves. (Heavier leather ones
provide better protection, but the cloth type are better than
nothing.)
- Water bottle.
- First aid supplies. (We have a first
aid kit on site, but we encourage groups to carry some basics
with them for minor problems.)
- "Authorization for Emergency Treatment,"
especially for any minor that will be part of your group.
In case of an incident, our staff will assist. However,
your group leader will be responsible for deciding on the course
of action, based on your church's policies and guidelines.
- If you have a technical skill that might be
helpful at camp (plumbing, electrical, etc.) please bring tools
and equipment for your particular skill.
